 3. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
3.1 Exposure Standards
An exposure standard has not been established for this product by Worksafe .
3.2 Engineering Controls
Provide adequate ventilation to maintain exposure levels to a minimum, including the use of local and/or general exhaust ventilation systems. Use explosion- proof ventilation equipment.
3.3 Personal Protection
In operations where dusts are generated, use approved air purifying dust respirator. Wear safety glasses with side shields or goggles, neoprene gloves and general industrial overalls with long sleeves to minimise exposure. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling and before work breaks, eating, drinking, smoking and using toilet facilities.
3.4 Flammability
Keep away from heat and ignition sources (NO SMOKING). Dusts at sufficient concentrations can form explosive mixtures with air. SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
4.1 Storage / Transport
Keep the product dry in closed containers at temperatures of no more than 50 degrees celcius. Protect from light. Avoid contact with iron. In situations where dusts will be unavoidably generated, ground all equipment and use explosion-proof apparatus.
4.2 Packaging / Labelling UN No. N/A Class None Allocated Sub Risk None Allocated Hazchem Code N/A Pack Group 0 EPG No. N/A Shipping Name SALICYLIC ACID Hazard HARMFUL
Risk Phrases R22 Harmful if swallowed. R37/38 Irritating to respiratory system and skin. R41 Risk of serious damage to eyes.
Safety Phrases S26 In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and contact a doctor or . S39 Wear eye/face protection.

4.3 Spills and Disposal
Spills
Clean-up personnel should wear full protective clothing including breathing apparatus in dusty conditions. Avoid raising dusts. Remove all sources of ignition (NO SMOKING).
Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete. Sweep up by mechanical means, avoid creating dusts. Place in a bag and hold for waste disposal. DO NOT rinse product away into the sewerage system.
Disposal
Observe all Federal, State and Local regulations before you dissolve in a flammable solvent and burn in an incinerator with a scrubber and after-burner. Residual quantities/contaminated packaging material can be burnt in incineration plants.
4.4 FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD Fire / Explosion
Dust may form an explosive mixture in air. May burn if heated or ignited. May cause fire/explosion with oxidising materials. Hazardous decomposition products include phenol, carbon dioxide, ignitable gases are formed at temperatures above 240 deg C. Vigorous reaction with fluorine. Decomposition/ decarboxylation will occur in case of heating with zinc chloride, iron chips and acids. Incompatible with nitrous ether, lead acetate and iodine. Product starts to decompose at 159 deg C and decomposes vigorously at 200 deg C.
Extinguishing Media
Fire-fighters should wear full protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. In case of fire use water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical type extinguishers. 5 OTHER INFORMATION
Other Information
Material has a water hazard class 1 - slightly dangerous to the water. Biodegradable by certain microorganisms. Low bioaccumulation potential. Very good absorption from water. DO NOT allow this product to enter sewage systems. Dangerous to aquatic life in high concentrations.
